Brenda Joyce Parker

d. August 28, 2021

Brenda Joyce Parker, age 77, finished her flight into the gates of glory on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at home, surrounded by her family in Columbia, Tennessee.
Brenda was a graduate of Altus High School in Altus, Oklahoma in 1962. She then became the bride of Robert Parker on April 15, 1963, and they were happily married for 58 years. After their wedding, Brenda became the wonderful mother of four children. During the years of raising her children and supporting her husband as a military wife, they moved to different areas of the state of Oklahoma.
In 1979, as Brenda long desired, she was able to begin classes at Western Oklahoma State College, and then transferred to Cameron University where she received her Bachelor of Education in 1983, and then went on to receive her Master's Degree in 1996. She began teaching after graduating in 1983 at LBT Christian Academy, and then went forward to working two years with troubled teens at what was then called Great Plains Residential Facility. She then accepted a position at Flower Mound School, Lawton Oklahoma where she taught for 21 years working with 6, 7, and 8th-grade students. She then retired in 2010. Brenda loved being a teacher and making a difference in her student's lives.
Brenda was also a Child of God and working in the church was always a pleasure for her. She desired to serve the Lord, whether it was teaching a Sunday school class, playing the organ or piano for church services, or spending a week with the kids at church camp.
She was always there for her family members or friends, whatever the need. Brenda is deeply loved by her family and all that know her and she will be missed greatly.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Parker; children; Lynda(Walter) Bohay, Richard(Patricia)Parker, Randall(Robin) Parker, and Melody(Brian)Webb; grandchildren; Stacey(Erick) Bell, Caleb(Sheyann) Kicklighter, Ben Parker, Sam Parker, DeAnna Parker, Brendan Parker, Tomas Parker, Cathryn Brown, Briana Hunter, Zachary Webb, and Sydney Webb. And six great-grandchildren; siblings; Pamela Russell and Patti(Kevin) Martin; sister in law; June Aduddell.
