Carol Ann Mattox, 74, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025.
Born in Rochester, New York, Carol was the beloved daughter of Lloyd and Barbara Bradshaw. She grew up in Rochester NY, where she developed the strong work ethic, wit, and sense of curiosity that would shape her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Barbara A. Meagher; her son, Zach Hanson; and her husbands, Wayne Hanson and Larry Mattox.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Wayne Hanson; her cherished granddaughter, Mary Hanson; her loving siblings, Jean Brown, Joan Durfey, and William Bradshaw; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Carol lived a full and varied life, calling New York, New Mexico, and Tennessee home. In her professional life, she was a leader with the Safeway grocery corporation, admired for her dedication and leadership. She later pursued education in computer information technology and also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, always eager to learn and serve others.
In her personal time, Carol found joy in the simple pleasures—thrift shopping, attending auctions, reading endlessly, and savoring chocolate. She had a sharp eye for a good deal, a passion for stories, and a sweet tooth to match her kind heart.
In her later years, Carol was a resident of Countryside Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, where she continued to be known for her warmth and quiet strength.
Carol’s life was a testament to resilience, lifelong learning, and love for family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
