Carolyn Taylor, age 74, of Tennessee, passed away on September 15, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 26, 1951, in Opelousas, Louisiana, to the late Benjamin and Marie Chenier.

Growing up in a large family, Carolyn treasured a lifetime full of memories, stories, laughter, and the special bonds that only family can share. Family remained an important part of Carolyn’s life, and she treasured the people who were there beside her through the years.

Carolyn settled in Tennessee with her sons, Eddie and Shawndale. It was a new chapter for Carolyn, filled with new experiences, special memories, and time spent with the people she loved. Tennessee became a meaningful part of her journey, and she was grateful for the love and companionship she shared with her family and friends.

Carolyn found joy in the simple things in life. She loved to cook and enjoyed preparing good food for the people around her. Her kitchen was often a place where family could gather, share a meal, and make memories. She also enjoyed bowling and spending time in her garden. Carolyn took pride in her flowers and loved watching them grow and bloom. She had a special appreciation for the beauty found in the little things.

Those who knew Carolyn will remember her for the love she had for her family, her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures, and the memories she made along the way. She leaves behind a lifetime of moments that her family will continue to talk about, laugh about, and hold close to their hearts.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Columbia, Tennessee, on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, Louisiana, where she will return to the community that was her first home. Her family will carry her memory with them as she is lovingly laid to rest in her hometown.
