Casey Harrington

September 29, 1974 — January 13, 2024

Murfreesboro

Casey Harrington, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on January 13, 2024, at his home in Natick, Massachusetts. He was born on September 29, 1974, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Hal Harrington and the late Sherry Rudolph Harrington.

Casey was a proud graduate of the Hume-Fogg Academic High School Class of 1992 and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville Class of 1996. It was during his high school years that he met the love of his life, Marilyn, and a friendship bloomed that would evolve into a remarkable marriage lasting nearly 27 years. Their connection was forged over a shared passion for ‘Star Wars’, banter, and a sense of endless adventure. Together, they raised three wonderful children whom Casey loved with his entire heart.

Known for his jovial and joking manner, Casey was not only a good husband and father but also a dedicated employee and friend. He had a knack for giving sound life advice, and many will fondly remember the times he spent sharing his wisdom. His commitment to his family extended to his work, where he treated his employees like family members, fostering a warm and supportive work environment. At his time of death, he was in a leadership role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Alongside work, Casey filled his free time with enriching activities. This included but was not limited to playing intramural basketball at UT Knoxville in the Band of Gypsys, playing golf, coaching Heath’s soccer games, and competing in triathlons: Clash Daytona and Fall Creek Falls ‘Battle for the Banjo.’ Currently, he was training for the Massachusetts State Triathlon.

Casey's impact reached far beyond his immediate circle. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and genuine care. His legacy will be remembered in the countless moments he spent making a positive difference in the lives of those around him.

Casey leaves his legacy behind in his wife: Marilyn Harrington; his children: Audie (Tyler) Torrontegui, Jenna (Evan) Wolfgang, and Heath Harrington; grandson: Darren Torrontegui. Father: Hal (Teresa) Harrington. Grandmother: Mary Sue Rudolph, and many extended family members.

Casey is reunited with his mother: Sherry; and his “Pop”: LC Rudolph.
