Cathy Garland

Cathy Garland, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on May 9, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. She was born on January 31, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Charles Malone and Barbara Steward Malone.

Cathy was a woman of profound love and warmth, deeply devoted to her family. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, relishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Holidays held a special place in her heart, as they provided precious opportunities for her family to gather and create lasting memories together. Known for her creative flair, Cathy had a passion for decorating and redecorating her home, infusing it with beauty and charm.

A dedicated shopper, Cathy found delight in the hunt for treasures, with Florida holding a special allure as one of her favorite destinations. In her leisure time, she found solace in the intrigue of True Crime TV shows.

Above all, Cathy will be remembered for her kind and compassionate spirit. She possessed a generous heart and found fulfillment in extending a helping hand to others. As a mother and grandmother, she showered her family with love and guidance, leaving an indelible mark on each of their lives.

Though Cathy may no longer walk among us, her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to shine brightly through the lives she touched. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cathy is survived by her husband: Ronnie Garland; children: Jason Glover, Kelly Evans (Danny Evans),Dane Luke (Kory Felty), Jada Plant (Jere Plant), Amber Luke, Summer Luke (Justin Ketch), and Trey Luke (Cheyenne Luke); grandchildren: Gage Evans, Emily Evans, Lexi Felty, Gracie Felty, Nathan Finerty, Mason Finerty, Channin Finerty, Raegan Plant, Rawlin Plant, Aaron Davidson, Khloe Davidson, Skye Ketch, Carter Ketch, Parker Ketch, Blake Ketch, Seth Glover, Lance Glover, and Kaycie Glover; siblings: Deb Vitrano (Joe), Carl Malone (Debbie), and Mike Malone. 

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter: Rawlin Plant; son in law: Danny Evans; brother: Al Malone; and father of her children: John Luke. 

A service for Cathy will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 12:00 PM to the start of the service at Williams Funeral home in Columbia, Tennessee. Cathy will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.
