Charles Len “Bubba” Burns passed away at his home in Santa Fe, Tennessee, on August 9, 2026.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Claude and Ruby Marvene Burns; his grandparents, Walter Claude and Janie Elizabeth Burns and Howard Spears and Clarice Beard; and his aunt, Thelma Dial; his uncle Elmer Burns.
He is survived by his sister, June (Bubba Compton) Slaughter; nephew, Cody (Jennifer) Slaughter; aunt, Faye Spears Burns; special friend, Sonia Lankford Shelton; several cousins and his beloved feline companion, Lizzie.
Bubba loved life and was determined to live it on his own terms. He appreciated the simple pleasures—a cold beverage, time spent with friends, a good game of pool, and a friendly card game. He enjoyed being outdoors and had a special appreciation for wildlife and birds. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Bubba spent many years as a dump truck driver for Bentley & Son Trucking. Those who knew him will remember his independent spirit, his love of good company, and the way he found enjoyment in the simple things in life.
Bubba will be laid to rest at Adkison Cemetery in Santa Fe, Tennessee. A graveside service will be Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
