Clarence Johnson

July 20, 1956 — June 7, 2025

Columbia, Tennessee

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” – Matthew 25:21

Clarence Johnson, a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on July 20, 1956, to Mahlon and Mildred Johnson, Clarence lived a life rooted in faith, family, and quiet strength.

Clarence was devoted to his loving wife, Sylvia Johnson, with whom he shared a life filled with unwavering love and partnership. They were blessed with two daughters: Jamie Sharp and Evelyn Johnson, who carry forward his legacy of kindness, perseverance, and strong family values.

A man who delighted in the gift of family, Clarence was the proud grandfather of Abby Price, Trista Jones (Andrew), Austin Sharp, Hayden Sharp, Brennah Sharp, Jacob Anderson, Eli Johnson, Nolan Anderson, and Dallas Sewell. His legacy continues through his great-granddaughter, Indiana Jones, whose joyful presence brought light to his final months.

Clarence was one of nine siblings. Together he and his siblings were raised in the Tennessee Children’s Home in Spring Hill. He is survived by Brenda (David) Johnson, Viola (Don) Davis, Robert Johnson, and Beverly Johnson. He is also leaves behind several nieces and nephews: Garrett Johnson, Rebekkah Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Leslie (Jay) Farlow, Dinah (Dean) Brush, Rebekah Townsend, Christopher Johnson, and Jennifer Johnson. He now reunites in glory with his beloved brothers James (Ann) Johnson, Harold Johnson, Walter (Phyllis) Johnson, and Lawrence Johnson, as well as his cherished parents, Mahlon and Mildred Johnson.

Clarence lived according to the words of Micah 6:8: “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” He lived quietly but impactfully, leaving a spiritual legacy of love, humility, and dedication.

Clarence leaves many friends and schoolmates who fondly remember his love of music and his wonderful natural talent.

Though his earthly journey has ended, we rejoice knowing he now rests in eternal peace, embraced by the Savior he trusted and served. As 2 Timothy 4:7 declares, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Clarence Johnson’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
