Mr. Clifford English Coffey, 89, a longtime resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, August 6 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services for Mr. Coffey will be conducted Monday at 11:30 AM at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Thomas Culberson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Born June 8, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Clifford and Georgia Johnson Coffey. He was a retired electrician for Union Carbide, worked for Mid-Tenn Steel after his retirement and loved to bowl in his younger years. Mr. Coffey was a US Navy veteran of WWII and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his daughters: Jill Andrews of Columbia and Jessie Mullins of Atlanta; granddaughter: Shannon Andrews of Columbia; brother: Walter Scott Coffey of Nashville; sister: Bessie Bill McDonald of Silver Springs, MD. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Landon Coffey, Hubert Franklin Coffey and Charlie Ray Coffey; sisters: Elizabeth D'Auria and Ruby Schuster.
