Obituary

David Lee Eaton, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. Born on January 27, 1943, in Essex, Missouri, David lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.

David was a man of steadfast character and gentle humor. Though soft-spoken, his presence was deeply felt by those around him. He had a unique ability to turn everyday moments into acts of kindness and ministry— whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or a handwritten note of encouragement. His faith in Christ was not only professed but lived out daily as he served faithfully in his church and community. He truly embodied the role of being the hands and feet of Jesus.

He found joy in simple pleasures: casting a fishing line, mowing his yard, enjoying a Bomb Pop, and spending time outdoors. These quiet moments were often shared with those he loved most - especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. David’s love for his family was evident in every prayer he lifted on their behalf and every thoughtful gesture he extended.

In his professional life, David was a respected Pipefitter, having studied as an apprentice before dedicating 33 years to his craft. His commitment to excellence was recognized when he was honored with a 50-year pin, a testament to his hard work and dedication to his profession.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Diana Eaton; daughters Darla Holmes and her husband John Holmes, and Kris Cobb and her husband Milo Cobb; grandchildren Kyle Holmes, Kaleigh Cobb, Michael Holmes, Chase Holmes (daughter-in-law Molly), and Abby Lee (son-in-law JD); great-granddaughter Harper Holmes; sister Carol Beck and her husband Wayne Beck.

His legacy also lives on through the many lives he touched with his compassion and faith. He joins his father and mother, Homer and Dorothy Eaton, in heaven.

A man who loved people deeply and served God wholeheartedly, David leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing and joy to those who remember his life well lived.

2 Corinthians 4:18 - 5:1 "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal....For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.”
