David Lynn Daniel

David Daniel, age 77, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born to the late B.C. and Rachel Daniel, David was also preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Daniel and Shirley Daniel. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56+ years, Shela Daniel; two sons, Matthew (Jill) Daniel and John (Hollie) Daniel; one brother, Larry “Pete” (Linda) Daniel; and his beloved grandchildren, Ellie, Andrew, Will, and Noah. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a steadfast man of faith. He dedicated his life to education, serving as a lifelong educator and respected school principal. His heart for children and learning touched generations in his community.

A man of many passions, David loved to travel the world with Shela, with some of their fondest memories made exploring the beauty of America’s National Parks. He enjoyed fishing, perfecting his BBQ, and cheering on the University of Tennessee Volunteers — "Go Big Orange!"

His faith was central to his life. A member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, David taught Sunday School for 55 years and served faithfully as an ordained Baptist deacon. He was a man who not only loved his church and friends, but above all, loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Micky Brackin, Jeff Overton, and his son John Daniel speaking in remembrance.

David Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
