David Ray Glasgow, 78, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on June 29, 2026.

Born June 20, 1948, in Paris, Tennessee, David was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary B Glasgow, and his sister, Diane Cox.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancee; his three daughters, April (Jay) Estes of Atlanta; Allison (Bill) Kennedy of Nashville; Kerri (Mason) Bell of Pulaski; six grandchildren, Savannah Estes, Alyssa Estes, Caroline Wilson, Jace Estes, Lacey Estes, and Olivia Bell; four step-grandchildren; and eleven step-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, former students, and colleagues who were blessed by his life and influence.

David graduated from Lipscomb University and the University of Tennessee, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology. He taught psychology at Lipscomb University and Austin Peay University before serving as a school psychologist in Humphreys, Houston, and Maury counties. Before retiring he taught special education at E.A Cox Middle School and math at Spring Hill High School. He held licenses as a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner, Licensed Professional Counselor, and was a Nationally Certified School Psychologist.

A creative spirit, David enjoyed photography and writing poetry, songs, and plays. He loved watching classic movies and listening to gospel music with his family. David’s gift for conversation, quick wit, and sense of humor meant that he never met a stranger. He easily brought joy to those around him. Family and friends will fondly remember his famous milkshakes and ice cream cones, which became a treasured tradition for many.

David was a faithful follower of Jesus and worshiped with Waverly Church of Christ, Maury Hills Church, and Highland Church of Christ throughout his life. He was known for his kindness, integrity, and willingness to stand up for what was right and the rights of others. Those who knew David knew him as an honest and trustworthy man whose character reflected his love for God. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, laughter, and love that will continue through the many lives he touched.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of The Gardens of Poplar Estates and the nurses at Hospice Compassus for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation will be held at Columbia's Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will take place on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Jackson Chapel Cemetery in Dickson County.
