David Love, age 74, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on November 9, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born on June 18, 1951, in Columbia to the late Houston and Ruth Love.
David was a man with a big heart and an even bigger love for music. He especially enjoyed listening to Bob Seger and Molly Hatchet, and his passion for music was a constant presence in his life. A hardworking man, David was the proud owner of Midstate Roofing for over 20 years in Columbia, where he built a strong reputation for quality work and dedication to his customers.
Known for his kindness and generosity, David loved helping others and was always ready to lend a hand or share a meal. He found joy in feeding people and making sure everyone around him felt cared for. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, spending time outdoors hunting, and being with his family and friends.
David is survived by his daughters: Tina Love, Knikki Jarreld (Tim), Brandy Love, and Bianca (Patrick) Rightmire; his siblings: Darlene “Sissy” Kennedy, Barbara Garland, Donald (Linda) Love, Patricia (Mark) Jett, Tony Love, Shirley Haywood, Johnny Love, and Bobby Love; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his best friend: Steve Huckelba; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vicky Massie Love; his parents, Houston and Ruth Love; and his brothers, Howard and Harold Love.
David will be remembered for his big heart, his love of life, and the many people whose lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
A memorial service for David will be held at Union Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church on November 20, 2025 at 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
