Debbie Carr, a woman with a heart big enough to hold her entire family, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth touched everyone lucky enough to know her.
Born in Chicago, Illinois to her late parents and preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Debbie lived a life centered around family, joy, and generosity. She adored the holidays and any chance to bring her family together—big gatherings, laughter, and a full house were her favorite things. If you walked into her home, you never left hungry. Cooking was one of the ways she showed love, and she was famous for making sure everyone had a plate, unless it was her Mrs. Grass’s soup. That was her soup, and she was not sharing. It was one of those perfectly “Debbie” quirks her family will smile about forever.
Debbie loved the sun on her skin, shopping trips, and the idea of seeing more of the world. She enjoyed traveling and cherished simple pleasures, like relaxing with her soap operas—especially The Young and the Restless. Her heart was happiest surrounded by the people she loved, and she never stopped giving, caring, and showing up for her family.
She is survived by her two children, Michael Carr and Stacey Carr; her grandchildren, Ali Carr and Megan Carr; her great-granddaughter, Caroline Hickman; her husband, Ron Sauber; and her three sisters, Diane, Donna, and Denise. Her presence, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Her memory will live on in the stories told at family gatherings she would have loved, in the meals shared around the table, and in the lives of the people she nurtured so wholeheartedly.
