Deborah “Debbie” H. Sewell, age 71, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, October 24th 2026, with her loving and ever-devoted husband by her side.
A Maury County native, Debbie was the daughter of Jo Murphy Hudson and the late Jack Hudson Sr. She graduated from Columbia Central High School with the Class of 1973, then attended classes at MTSU and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper.
Debbie shared 24 cherished years with her loving husband, Eddie Sewell. A devoted family woman, she had a playful, fun-loving personality and a positive outlook on life no matter the circumstances. Wise and insightful, Debbie had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. Her warmth reached beyond her family, and anyone who met her could feel the love she so freely shared.
In her free time, Debbie enjoyed getting lost in a good book, especially one that kept her on the edge of her seat. She also loved cheering on The University of Alabama Crimson Tide, bringing plenty of enthusiasm to game day. Roll Tide. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Eddie Sewell; her mother, Jo Murphy Hudson; her children, Kristi Prince and Jeremy (Katie) Prince; her grandchildren, Hudson Prince, Caroline Prince, and Sawyer Pilkinton; her siblings, Mike (Rhonda) Hudson and Terri McMeen; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Hudson, Jr.
Debbie’s family and friends will deeply miss her playful spirit, her wisdom, her strength and the love she shared so generously. Her warmth and positive spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service honoring and celebrating Debbie’s life will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
