Mrs. Dorothy Ella Hughes Hooper, age 50, a resident of Overlook Place in Columbia passed away on Friday, May 25, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hooper will be conducted Thursday May 31, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Al Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native was the daughter of Mary Ellen Calwell Hughes and the late Clarence ?C.J.? Hughes, Sr. and the wife of Jeffrey Hooper. She was a Bios Administrator since 2006, Case Manager for seven years at the Impact Center and delivered Meals on Wheels every Saturday. She was a participant with Special Olympics. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Dorian Denise Hooper and Jeffrey Alexander Hooper both of Columbia, TN; two brothers, Howard Vanessa Hughes and Larry Sadie Hughes both of Cincinnati, OH; three sisters, Roberta Hughes of Milford, OH, Mary Hughes and Harriet Reuben James both of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by a brother, C.J. Hughes, Jr.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 291 Wayne Street, Columbia, TN 38401.
