Gene Wayne Gibbs, 78, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN. He was born on April 2, 1948, in Montezuma, GA.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Trena Gibbs; his children, Holly Aldridge (Trent), and Greg Gibbs (Carla); his grandchildren, Grace, Ty, Neely, Zoriah, Parker and Joaquin; his great-grandchildren, Ava and Ezra; and his brother, Larry Gibbs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Flick and Jewell Gibbs; his brothers, Buddy Gibbs, Jerry Gibbs, Steven Gibbs; and his sister, Carolyn Pulley.

Pops, as he was known by his family, deeply loved the Lord and served Him by serving people. He forgave easily and made it a mission to unconditionally love and support family and friends. If he had it, it’s yours even if he needed it. He was our hero and a great husband, dad, Pops, brother and friend.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mars Hill Baptist in Lawrenceburg with a visitation on Friday, October 2nd from 4-6 p.m. and service on Saturday, October 3rd at 11 a.m.
