Jack C Parson Sr

September 30, 1943 — October 22, 2025

Jack Condley Parson, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Ethridge, Tennessee, on October 22, 2025.

Born in Mount Pleasant to the late J.B. Parson and Irene Hill Parson, Jack lived a full and vibrant life centered around family, friends, service, and a joyful sense of humor that touched everyone who knew him. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a Vietnam veteran and later retired from the Army National Guard. His commitment to public service continued in his civilian life as a Deputy Sheriff for Maury County, as well as a probation officer and court bailiff.

Jack was known for his larger-than-life personality. He had a gregarious spirit, never met a stranger, and had an uncanny ability to bring laughter wherever he went. Affectionately known as “Paw-Paw Jack,” he adored his family and found joy in spending time with each of them—attending ballgames, sharing stories, and simply being present in their lives.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Jack enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved singing, tinkering with boats and cars, and could often be found rebuilding vehicles or fine-tuning fishing rods. He had a deep appreciation for history and culture, evident in his collections of knives, swords, and Native American artifacts. He was also a skilled carpenter who took pride in building his own home.

Jack was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan—cheering on his team with enthusiasm: “Go Big Orange!” He also had a passion for yard sales, flea markets, and antique hunting, always on the lookout for hidden treasures and an opportunity to barter.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by; his brothers Sonny Parson, Charlie Bill Parson, and twin brother Mack Spencer Parson; sisters Ellen Stanford, Jean Scharrer; and his grandson, Caiden Henry Parson, whom he shared the same birthday with.

He is survived by his children: Jack Condley (LeeAnn) Parson II, Kimberly Parson, Stephen Brian (Donna) Parson, Tina (Michael Mencer) Parson, Becky (James) Robb, and Blake (Crystal) Parson.

He leaves behind a loving legacy through his cherished grandchildren, John Condley Parson, Drew (Shannon) Parson, Cody (Autumn) Prince, Calleigh (Allison) Szostek, Aerial (Jonathan) Cunningham-Hinson, Alli (Travis) Hanvy, Jack-Reed Graham, Briley Graham, Ashley Grace Graham, Lily Robb, Carter Parson and Collin Parson.

Jack is survived by his only living sibling, sister Joanola Pullum.

He is also survived by his beloved pet — and self-declared “favorite child” — Little Bit, who rarely left his side and brought him constant comfort and companionship.

Jack’s life was defined by service, laughter, love, and a deep dedication to his family. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the values he instilled, and the many lives he touched with his vibrant presence.

A visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, October 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, October 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m., with burial to take place at Polk Memorial Gardens.
