James L. Bennett III was born on August 29, 1971, in Franklin, Tennessee, to James L. Bennett II and Helen Brown. From the very beginning, James brought his own unique spirit and personality to those around him. Throughout his life, he made memories with the people he loved and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. On August 10, 2026, James gained his angel wings and began his journey to eternal peace.

James was a man who knew how to enjoy the things that brought him happiness. He loved spending time fishing, enjoyed shooting guns with his son Steven, and treasured the outdoors and the simple moments that made life special. But above all else, James had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, Haverlee and Gracelynn. The love and joy they shared were truly precious to him, and the memories they made together will be cherished forever. His family was an important part of his life, and his love for them will continue to live on through the memories they hold close to their hearts.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Cynthia Bennett; his son, Steven (Ashley Slone) Conner; and his cherished granddaughters, Haverlee and Gracelynn. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Brown; his siblings; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and his sisters-in-law’s and brothers-in-law’s.

He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Bennett II.

James will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the family he loved and the countless memories they shared.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
