James Allen Mousseau, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend whose love for the outdoors, sports, and simple pleasures brought joy to all who knew him.
James is lovingly remembered by his daughters Cheryl (Jason) Gebes, Karen (Glenn) Glover and Mary Cutler; his son Christopher Mousseau; and his lifelong friend Keith Chester. He was the proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren and was also blessed with several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Sharon Mousseau; his parents, Lawrence and Doris Mousseau; and his children James Mousseau Jr. and Lila Heise.
A true outdoorsman at heart, James found happiness in the fresh air — whether it was tending to his garden, boating, golfing, or playing horseshoes with friends. He had a special talent for turning his homegrown tomatoes into flavorful salsa and hot relish that he generously shared with others. Indoors, he enjoyed the simple comfort of Westerns like Gunsmoke, rooting for his favorite baseball and football teams, and trying his luck on poker machines.
In his younger years, James was an active athlete in high school, setting the foundation for his lifelong love of sports and staying active. His warm personality, gentle humor, and love for life's little pleasures will be dearly missed.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate James’s life.
