Jerry Leon Keedle, age 78, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Lynchburg Nursing Center.

Born in 1947, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Aljern and Chrystal Keedle. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Kathryn Keedle. Jerry is survived by his twin brother, Terry Lee Keedle; his sister, Vicki (Brian) Davis; his son, Alexander Thomas Keedle; and his cherished granddaughter, Alexandria Therese Warner.

After high school, he settled in Indianapolis in 1965. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Jerry served with distinction during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Enterprise. He began a long and fulfilling career as an engineer. He earned his Master’s degree and spent over 30 years with Detroit Diesel Allison, later continuing his work with Walker in Lewisburg for an additional eight years.

Jerry had a deep appreciation for history, particularly naval and aviation history. He was an avid collector of aviation diecast models and enjoyed attending air shows and car shows whenever possible. His interest in the Old West was reflected in his collection of Western-style replica guns, each piece a nod to the past he so admired.

In quieter moments, Jerry found joy in sketching house plans, a hobby that blended his creativity with his engineer’s mind. He had a love for antiques, and travel was one of his greatest pleasures—especially long car rides that gave him the freedom to explore. Many who knew him remember the peace he found sitting on his patio porch, affectionately called his “Fortress of Solitude,” where he would reflect, observe, and simply be.

Jerry’s life was marked by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a love of the world around him. He will be remembered as a thoughtful, intelligent, and quietly adventurous man whose passions enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
