Jimmy Gobble

James “Jimmy” L. Gobble Jr. passed away on October 12, 2022, at the age of 75, at his residence. He was born on February 4, 1947, to his parents, James Gobble Sr. and Elaine Lively Gobble, in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Sara Oliver Gobble for 56 years. He loved his family and friends and his four-legged kids. You would often find him mowing his yard, or fixing cars, he was a great mechanic. He had a great interest and love for old cars and collectables. Jimmy never met a stranger, he was a big cut up, liked to make people laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Oliver Gobble; daughters: Raquel (Benjamin) Fisher, Maegan (Nathan) Potts; brother-in-law: Tim (Benida) Oliver; grandchildren: Bradley (BK) Shelton (Alisa Bartlett), Michalla (Samuel) Barnes; step-grandchildren: Ben (Jill) Fisher, Amanda Begley, Shonda Gallaher; great-grandchildren: Rylee Dawn Belew, Mason Barnes, Connor Barnes; step-great-grandchildren: Braydon Gallaher (Lexi Serrett), Jaycee Gallaher, Aaliyah Begley, Slayt Fisher; step-great-great-grandchild: Sawyer Gallaher; several nieces and nephews; cousins; special pets: Lady, Sadi, Buddy, and Luci.

He is preceded in death by his parents: James Leo and Elaine Gobble; father-in-law: Dalton Oliver; mother-in-law: Frances Oliver; sisters: Reba (Clayton) Mobbs, Janet (Arthur) Shouse.

Special thanks to Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Lucy Ledbetter, Janice Logue, Sheila and Michael Martin, and Compassus Hospice: Stacey, Penny, April, Sheila, Misty, and all others that cared for him.
In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Christ Life Academy, Ethridge First Baptist Church Building Funds, Thousand Hills Cowboy Church or Gobble Family Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Ethridge First Baptist in Ethridge, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to the start of the service at Ethridge First Baptist in Ethridge, Tennessee.
