Jody Lee Sensat, born on September 2, 1963, left this world on December 19, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. Jody, a man who cherished the simplicity of life, found joy in the little things and asked for no more than what life had to offer. He passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and hard work.
Jody's love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did. He possessed an equal fondness for them as he did for his other great love – food. Jody had a true passion for cooking, sharing hearty meals with loved ones, and, above all, relishing in the joy of savoring a good dish. His infectious sense of humor and jovial spirit made him a beloved figure, always ready with a joke and a hearty laugh to brighten the day.
A diligent worker, Jody dedicated many years to the demanding work of cutting and farming tobacco. Later, he joined his brothers at Menasha, the box factory in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, and eventually worked with his best friend, creating beautiful cabinets for Sims Custom Cabinets. Even in his professional endeavors, Jody approached life with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
When not immersed in work, Jody could be found pursuing his other great passion – fishing. Whether by a tranquil stream or a lively fishing spot, he found solace and joy of angling. On weekends during football season, Jody's enthusiasm for sports took center stage as he passionately cheered on his favorite teams, the Vols and the Titans. A devoted Tennessee football supporter, he reveled in the excitement and camaraderie that sports brought into his life.
In his later years, Jody faced the challenges of a stroke, which significantly impacted his short-term memory. Despite these hardships, he maintained a positive disposition and continued to create cherished memories with his family. His resilience and strength in the face of adversity were a testament to his character.
Jody Lee Sensat will be remembered with love and fondness by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through the laughter, the shared meals, the hard work, and the moments of joy he brought into the lives of those around him. As we say our goodbyes, we celebrate a life well-lived and treasure the memories of a man who found happiness in the simplest pleasures of life. Jody will be dearly missed, but his spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
