A lifelong farmer, John dedicated his days to the land, with much of his work centered around cattle farming, though he also farmed tobacco in his earlier years. Known for his strong work ethic, he believed in the value of hard work and led by example. He could often be found on his John Deere tractor, dressed in his well-known one-piece Dickie coveralls, tending to his farm.
John was a proud United States Army veteran and a man who deeply valued community. He greatly enjoyed gathering with friends at the sale barn, where conversations about farming and life were always shared with warmth and humor. He attended Mynders School and carried the lessons of diligence and perseverance throughout his life.
