Joyce Marie Harrison of Columbia, passed away on May 20, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Joyce was the daughter of Gordon and Edith Garlick Prickett and was born in the Poconos Mountains in Pennsylvania on November 23, 1930.
She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, having taken care of her son Alan from the moment he returned from Vietnam until his death at the age of 53. Joyce was also a committed homemaker who loved arts and crafts. She was of the Christian faith and was dearly loved.
Ms. Harrison is survived by: her daughter: Lori Harrison, a disabled American veteran, of Denver, Colorado; the granddaughter she raised as a daughter: Crystal Marie Harrison of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren: Amber Joy Racine and Nicholas Johnson; and great-grandson: Adam Stephens. She was preceded in death by her children: Alan Harrison and Deborah Scontrino.
The family will hold a celebration of life service for Joyce at a later date. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements and online condolences may be sent to www.williamsfh.com .
