June Hardison Turner, age 96, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at her home in Columbia, Tennessee.
June was born on August 28, 1929, in Columbia, Tennessee, to the late Clarence Hardison and Hettie Hardison. A lifelong resident of Maury County, June was well known and dearly loved by many in her community.
In her younger years, June was honored as Miss BellSouth in the Mule Day Parade, a distinction she carried with pride. She had a lifelong love of dancing and music, especially country music, which always brought her joy. June was employed for many years with Central Bell and later with Maury Regional Medical Center, where she formed lasting friendships and touched countless lives.
June loved to travel, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. She deeply cherished her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and her love for them was evident in all she did.
She is survived by her children, James (Katie) Turner, Jean Ann Turner, and Jack Turner; her grandchildren, Rachel Turner and Jacob Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil “Shine” Taylor Turner; her siblings, Mildred, Dottie, Jean, Paul, and Sammy; and her granddaughter, McKenzie Turner.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Clark, Kevin Holt, Brent Holt, Mark Cook, Waynes Romsberg, and Mike Mabry. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Overton, Mike Allen, and Dennis Hardison.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Caris Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Ms. June. The family would also like to say a special thank you to the switchboard staff at Maury Regional Medical Center for their love and friendship.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with Bro. Bob Vassar officiating.June will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery.
