Karen Nix Burks

Karen Nell Nix Burks, age 59, was born on January 26, 1966, and passed away peacefully at her home on December 31, 2025.

Karen was blessed with the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mother for 25 years, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. She loved her children deeply and devoted her life to caring for her family. A woman of strong and unwavering faith, Karen frequently praised Jesus, and prayed often.

Karen found joy in spending time with her family and treasured the simple moments of life. She enjoyed arts and crafts, thrift store shopping, lunch dates with her children, watching western movies, and cooking meals for those she loved. Her faith-filled spirit, kindness, and love will be remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her beloved children: daughter Misty Dawn Gordon (Jobeth) of Columbia, TN; son Chad Ray Nix (Alaina) of Lawrenceburg, TN; and bonus daughter Jessica Jean Nix of Loretta, TN. She is also survived by the father of her children, Charles Ray Nix of Lawrenceburg, TN.

Karen was a proud grandmother to Kaydence Jewel and Kambrianna Jane, and a loving bonus grandmother to Mason, Malik, Jaycie, Jalil, and Sofia.

She is survived by her sister, Sheila Lopez of Leoma, TN; her two special friends Sherry Garcia and Sherry Collier; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at Sonset Fellowship Church in Lawrenceburg, TN, on January 10, 2026. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM.

Karen’s legacy of faith, love and devotion will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
