Obituary

Karen Moore, age 69, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026 in Columbia, Tennessee. Born on October 7, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, Karen was the daughter of the late Ken Moore and Roxie Moore. She grew up in Dearborn, Michigan and was the oldest girl among six children.

Karen dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a Registered Nurse and had worked in healthcare since the age of 18. Her compassion, strength, and hardworking spirit touched countless lives throughout the years. Outside of her career, Karen enjoyed staying active. She loved lifting weights and helping teach aerobics classes in her younger years, always encouraging others to be strong and confident.

Karen was a strong and independent woman who worked tirelessly to raise her daughters. She was known for her sharp wit, good sense of humor, and her ability to always speak her mind. Above all, she cherished her family. She spent her time in retirement watching the greatgrandchildren. Affectionately known as “Gam Gam” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Karen’s love and presence will forever remain in their hearts.

She is reunited with her parents, Ken and Roxie Moore, and her sister, Patricia Longo.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Brenda (Shaun) Lituanas and Bridgett (Dray) Pate; siblings, Greg Tharpe, Kevin Moore, Kenny Moore, and Linda (Ken) Fields; grandchildren: Kala, Mariah, Micah, Aaliyah, Jaden, and Ezekiel; great-grandchildren: Jak, Ella, Myles, Indy, and Samuel; along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

A Celebration of Life for Karen will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 12:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee.
