Kenneth Wayne “Bo” Bollinger, 74, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Columbia, Tennessee. Born on April 20, 1951, in Lawrence County, Missouri, Bo lived a life filled with creativity, laughter, and deep connections to his community.
Bo pursued higher education with dedication and pride. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Columbia State Community College (CSCC) and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University. His academic journey laid the foundation for a career that would touch many lives across multiple fields.
He began his professional life with Tyson Foods, working in both Tennessee and Arkansas. Later, he found his true calling at Columbia State Community College, where he served as the Coordinator of Theater/Event Services until his retirement. His contributions to CSCC were recognized with the 2015 Professional Staff of the Year Award and culminated in receiving the prestigious President’s Award of Honor for Distinguished Alumni in 2024.
Bo also worked at the Columbia Lowe’s, where his friendly demeanor and sharp wit made him a favorite among coworkers and customers alike.
A passionate supporter of the arts, Bo was a longtime member of the Maury County Arts Guild. He produced, directed, and starred in numerous theatrical productions and took great joy in mentoring aspiring actors. His love for music, theater, sports, and trivia was infectious—he brought energy and enthusiasm to every endeavor he embraced.
Bo’s sense of humor was legendary. Known for his playful ribbing and quick wit, he brought laughter wherever he went. He was a fun-loving man who cherished time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Beth Ann (Brandon) Bone; grandson Caden Bone; sister Marilyn (Leon) Rodgers; brother James Bollinger; special friend E.Ann Ingram, as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Maxine Bollinger and his brother Bill Bollinger.
Bo's memory will live on through the laughter he inspired and the lives he touched. May his legacy continue to bring comfort to those who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 16, 2025, 06:00 PM at Destiny Church 612 N Main Street #3304, Columbia, TN.
*Attire for the service will be informal. Feel free to wear “Bo inspired” items such as tie dye, St.Louis Cardinals, Vanderbilt, bright colors, or cool t-shirts.
