Lanny Shawn Jacobs, born on January 15, 1974, in Leon County, Florida, left this world on August 20, 2023, in Columbia, Tennessee. He was a devoted son, a cherished father, and a beloved member of his extended family.
Lanny is survived by his parents, Deloris and Glenn Smith, and his sister, Buffy Sherrie Smith, as well as his cherished children: Taylor Jacobs, Cassie Martin, and Kassie Black. He leaves behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of cherished memories. Lanny is also fondly remembered by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Lanny had a deep passion for his family, finding immense joy in spending time with them. He had an adventurous spirit and a love for the outdoors, often enjoying the tranquility of fishing and the beauty of nature. His collection of knives showcased his appreciation for craftsmanship and artistry.
Among his dreams, Lanny held a special place in his heart for his Ford Mustang, aspiring to one day restore it to its former glory.
A celebration of Lanny's life will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 5:30 PM at the Pentecostals of Columbia. We invite all who knew and loved Lanny to join us in remembering the wonderful person he was and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.
Lanny will forever be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
