Louis “Gene” E. Lindsey, age 81 of Columbia, passed away April 24, 2014 at NHC Hillview.
Gene was born December 22, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Erby Lee Lindsey and the late Cora Leigh King Lindsey. He was the husband of the late Georgia Skelton Lindsey. Gene retired from Occidental Chemical after 25 years. He loved music, especially gospel and country and also enjoyed a variety of sports. At one time he coached the softball team for Occidental Chemical.
A graveside service and entombment will be conducted Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at
Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. William Owens officiating.
Survivors include his brother, Wayne (Ilene) Lindsey, and numerous cousins.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
