Mr. Malcolm Eugene "Mert" Burns, age 79, a resident of Woolard Road in Santa Fe, passed away on Friday, November 28, at his residence.
Graveside services for Mr. Burns will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at the Santa Fe Cemetery with Rev. Howard Alexander officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Robert and Ethel Brady Burns and the husband of the late Evelyn Fitzgerald Burns. He was retired from Union Carbide.
He is survived by his children, Patsy Tom Johnson of Columbia and Travis Joye Burns of Charleston, SC; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Sykes of Santa Fe; special friend, Ruby Webb of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Burns.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Maury County Unit, P O Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402
