Mark Alan Werda, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Columbia, Tennessee, on October 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mark lived a life filled with laughter, adventure, and devotion to those he held dear. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and later spent many years on the road as a dedicated truck driver, embracing the freedom and independence that came with the open highway.
Mark had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and dirt bikes and never passed up the chance to attend a good car show. He especially loved exploring the western states and found peace in the natural beauty of Lake Guntersville, Alabama, a place that brought him great joy.
With a sharp wit and a contagious sense of humor, Mark was the kind of person who could make anyone smile. He was a constant jokester who brought lightness to even the most ordinary days.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Beverly Werda; his father, Gerald James Werda; his son, Jason (Elizabeth) Werda. His grandchildren, Easton Werda, Blake Werda, and Makalya Werda. His stepchildren, Thomas (Molly) Benderman and Douglas (Sandra) Benderman. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Thomas Jack (Megan) Benderman, Angelina Benderman, Hailey Benderman, and Corey Benderman.
He also leaves behind his siblings, Lorraine Furtaw, Denise (Pam) Werda, Dale Werda, Jeff (Rhonda) Werda, and Randy Werda.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Werda.
Mark's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
