St. Catherine Catholic Church

Mary Louise Hagan Tagart was born in Manhattan, New York, on November 27, 1945, to the late Peter James Hagan and Lucy Marie Robinson Hagan.
Mary took great pride in her Irish roots, held her Catholic faith close to her heart, and cherished the people she loved most. Mary lived her life with a strong spirit, a generous heart, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was known for being spicy, quick-witted, and always ready to share a laugh, bringing warmth and personality wherever she went. Her memory will live on through the countless stories, laughter, and moments shared with those who will miss her dearly.
Mary’s greatest love story began across the sea. She and Bob Tagart were brought together through a love letter, with a little help from Bob’s mother, and what started as a love that crossed the miles blossomed into a lifelong partnership. Their story was a testament to the kind of love that finds its way home, no matter the distance.
Together, Mary and Bob built a life filled with love and family and welcomed two daughters, Ivy Marie and Cailin Marie. Mary cherished being a wife and mother, and her family was always an important part of her world.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Bob Tagart; her daughter, Cailin Marie; nine nieces and nephews; and several loving extended family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ivy Marie; her sister, Antionette “Toni” Albanesi; her brother, James “Jimmy” Hagan; her parents, Peter James Hagan and Lucy Marie Robinson Hagan; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alfreda and Russell Tagart.
Mary leaves behind more than memories, she leaves behind stories that will be told, laughter that will be remembered, and a love that will continue through the family she cherished so dearly.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, August 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
