Mary Wright, age 90, passed away on January 10, 2022, at Poplar Estates Assisted Living
Mary was born on November 3, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan to her late parents James and Hazel Bailey. Mary loved crocheting, playing Rook with her friends at Poplar Estates, and reading. She spent time each day doing her Bible reading. Mary was an awesome prayer warrior. She spent hours each day praying for her family and friends. She loved attending church at New Song Baptist if her health allowed. Her greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandchildren and the rest of her family.
She was married to the late Jerrell Wright for 47 years.
Mary is survived by her children: Sandi (Rick) Sykes, Lisa (Jim) Rhoden, David (Melissa) Wright, and Lori (Mike) Macasa. She loved her grandchildren: Josh Sykes, Jake (Jerrica) Sykes, Jason (Chelsey) Sykes, Jamie (Courtney) Rhoden, Lindsey Jumper, Austin (Gabbi) Wright, Bailey Macasa, Luke Macasa. Mary also had 12 great-grandchildren.
Mary’s favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:6 &6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” Another verse that Mary loved and quoted up till the day she went to be with the lord was Psalms 19:14. The verse reads “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and redeemer.” Mary’s goal in life was to tell others about Jesus. We are so thankful that we know she is with her Lord now.
Pallbearers will be Josh Sykes, Jake Sykes, Jason Sykes, Jamie Rhoden, Parker Sykes, and Austin Wright.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Luke Macasa and Dane Sykes.
The family would like to thank Poplar Estates Assisted living for the great care they gave our mother. She loved living there and told everyone she knew how well they took care of her every need. We thank God for sharing her with us for 90 years and are rejoicing she is with her Lord and Savior.
