Micheal Childress, 63, of Columbia, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2025.
Known affectionately as “Mike” to his friends and family, he was a man of simple pleasures and a big heart. Born to the late James and Elissa Childress, Mike grew up with a love for the outdoors, a passion for rock and roll music, and a knack for fixing things—traits that would define much of his life.
Mike worked as an auto mechanic, where his talent and dedication were apparent in every car he touched, especially the hot rod trucks he loved so much. His life was a place of work, but a place of laughter, music, and friendship. Whether he was cracking jokes, trying to play music from his collection of guitars, or lending a helping hand, Mike had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for.
He cherished his family deeply and is survived by his brothers, David Childress and Bobby Childress; and his nieces, Becky (Breck) Boyd, Melissa (Nic) Day, and nephew Drew (Maureen) Childress and several great nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jimmy Childress, and his niece Amanda Kincaid.
Mike will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, his kindness, and his unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He brought laughter into many lives and will be missed more than words can say.
