Myra Potts, age 78, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026.
Born on October 27, 1947, in Columbia, Tennessee, Myra was the daughter of the late Herbert Brooks and Kate Brooks. She was a true people person who never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. Easily described as a shining light, Myra brought warmth, joy, and excitement wherever she went. Whether it was a simple gathering or a special occasion, she had a way of making every moment feel meaningful.
Family was the center of Myra’s world. She was a loving and devoted wife, sharing 52 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Sanford Potts. She was a proud mother and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.
Myra had a love for life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed cheering on Kansas City football and the Tennessee Volunteers, took pride in her fashionable and classy style, and found peace tending to her beautiful hibiscus plants on her patio. Her vibrant spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jonathan Potts (EmilyJo); grandson, Greyson Potts; granddaughters: Aleecia Milo, Kailey Williams, and Gracie Williams; sister, Janie Cunningham; nieces, Whitney and Katie; and nephew, Eric.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Gina Potts; son, Rodney Lester Potts; and her parents, Herbert and Kate Brooks.
