Mrs. Myrtle Blass, age 84, a resident of the Seventh Avenue in Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be conducted later in Chicago, IL. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
The Harlan, KY, native was the daughter of the late Lemon Hicks and Charlottee Cornett Hicks. During WW II, Myrtle had worked at the atomic plant in Oak Ridge. She was also a hairdresser.
Survivors include one daughter: Glenda Duncan Kennedy of Columbia; granddaughters: Tracey Michael Sandoval of Gilbert, AZ, Tanya Robert Berndt of Chicago, IL and Madilene Keith Alltizer of Minden, NV; great-grandchildren: Alex Kennedy, Russell Fleischacker, Sherri Verhagen and Nicholas Berndt; several great-great-grandchildren.
