Ned Jack
Leavitt
April 12, 1950 – April 25, 2026
Ned Jack Leavitt, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at his home in Hampshire, Tennessee.
Born on April 12, 1950, in Rupert, Idaho to the late Jack Eldon and Gayle Wiser Leavitt. Ned lived a life full of laughter, love, and service. He was a true jokester with a servant’s heart, always ready with a joke, a helping hand, or one of his favorite sayings: “God don’t make no junk. Eat more potatoes.” Ned never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family. Ned was a longtime truck driver who spent many years on the road, and if he was driving through a town and knew someone who lived there, he would call to check on them and let them know he was thinking about them.
Ned loved God, his church, and his family deeply. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and believed in serving others and lived that belief daily. He proudly raised his family in Rigby, Idaho for many happy years. He was an Eagle Scout, a testament to his character and dedication from a young age. He was also awarded a scholarship to attend Boise State University, where he served as the manager of the football team. Known as the “wrap support” person on staff, players would stand in line as they only wanted Ned to expertly wrap their ankles before the game.
He was also a master of the grill and smoker. His ribs were the best around and, as many would say, ruined all other ribs because his were just that good.
Above all, Ned cherished his family and loved each of them wholeheartedly.
He leaves his children who will always cherish his memory: Laura Lee Hull (Marvin), Sally Ann Brown (Max), Michele Dawn Stevens (Kevin), Bonnie Jean Farnsworth (Daniel), and Stephanie Lynn Leavitt; 14 grandchildren; his siblings: Randall Wayne Leavitt (Karyl) and Staci Ann Leavitt; and his former wife and dear friend, Janet Anglesey Leavitt.
In addition to his parents, Ned is preceded in death by his son, Gary Kent Anglesey; and his sister, Kathy Gay Leavitt.
Ned’s legacy of kindness, humor, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
