Patricia Ann
Tanner
Apr 1, 1941 — Jul 6, 2026
Patricia Culpepper Tanner, age 85, of Athens, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026.
Born on April 1, 1941, in Section, Alabama, Patricia lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family. She was a woman of strong Christian faith who found great joy in studying the Bible and listening to Southern gospel music.
Patricia’s greatest happiness came from her family. She loved gathering those she cherished around the table, preparing their favorite meals, and eagerly trying new recipes to share with them. Her homemade potato salad was the dish most often requested by family and friends—a small but meaningful expression of the love she poured into every meal she prepared. She was also a devoted fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and faithfully cheered on her favorite football team each season.
During the final year of her life, Patricia became a treasured member of her assisted living community. Her friendly nature quickly endeared her to the staff, who affectionately gave her the nickname “PT.” The friendships she formed there brought her comfort and joy.
Patricia is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Monteia and Robert Moore of Athens, Alabama; her granddaughters, Kenleigh Moore of Columbia, Tennessee, and Mikala Moore of Hermitage, Tennessee; her cherished great-granddaughter, Charleigh Carpenter of Columbia, Tennessee; her sister, Kaye White of Pensacola, Florida; her nieces, Pepper White and Tiger White (Chris), also of Pensacola; and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Tanner; her father, Gladston Culpepper; and her mother, Imogene Culpepper.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at peace in the presence of her Lord, reunited with those who have gone before her.
Williams Funeral Home is honored to serve the Tanner family. Condolences may be shared at www.williamsfh.com
