Rebecca Elizabeth “Becky” Clark passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia on March 14, 2026.
Becky was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and throughout her life she demonstrated a deep commitment to faith, family, and service to others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Shelby Saint Sutton, and her brother, Mike Sutton, Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James Clark; her daughters, Karen (Jonathan) Gobble and Andrea (Kelsey) Clark; her siblings, Tim Sutton and Anne McCuen; her cherished grandchildren, Isabell Gobble, Oliver Gobble, Eleanor Gobble, and Lilly Ballard; and her great-granddaughter, Miley Woods.
Becky pursued her calling to care for others through a lifelong dedication to the medical field. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, later becoming a Registered Nurse, and eventually earning her Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville to become a Nurse Practitioner. Through each step of her career, she used her knowledge and compassion to serve and comfort those in need.
More than her professional accomplishments, Becky will be remembered for the faith that guided every part of her life. She was intentional about living in alignment with her higher calling, using her God-given gifts to serve, lead, love, and bless others. Becky sought continually to grow spiritually and to build the Kingdom of God in the lives of those around her. She exemplified the qualities of the Proverbs 31 woman—a woman of purpose, strength, and devotion.
Her life verse was John 2:5: “Whatever He (Jesus) says, do it.” Becky lived these words daily, seeking to follow Christ faithfully and encourage others to do the same.
The family would like to express special gratitude to those who supported and walked alongside Becky in faith and friendship: Al Woody; the Titus 2 Women’s group; Kim Vandiver; Sandy Collins; Teresa Gilbreath; Bettie Gobble; Tonya Davis; Tennie McKnight; Sarah Willems; and Linda Norton.
A memorial service will be held at Columbia First Baptist Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with the memorial service beginning at 12:00 noon, officiated by Rev. Mike Dawson.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mission Fund at First Baptist Church.
Becky’s life was a testimony of faith, compassion, and obedience to Christ. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will continue to bless her family, friends, and all who knew her.
