Rebecca “Michelle” Daum, age 61, passed away on May 18, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 29th wedding anniversary with her loving and devoted husband, Robert Paul Daum. After a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Michelle leaves behind a legacy of grace, kindness, and compassion that touched countless lives.

Through every trial life placed before her, Michelle never allowed hardship to dim her light. She carried herself with strength and dignity, meeting each challenge with a gentle spirit and unwavering love for those around her. Her contagious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room, and she had a rare gift of making others feel safe, welcomed, and deeply cared for in her presence. Whether someone needed guidance, comfort, or simply a shoulder to lean on, Michelle was always there without hesitation. Her warmth and nurturing heart earned her the cherished name “Mama Michelle” by so many who loved her.

Music was woven deeply into Michelle’s soul. Growing up in a home where music was ever present, she developed a lifelong passion inspired by her father, a talented bass player who worked alongside many country music stars. Michelle learned to play the piano at a young age, and one of her greatest joys was passing that love of music down to her daughters. She found happiness and energy in music throughout her life, and her favorite band, Aerosmith, always held a special place in her heart.

Above all else, Michelle treasured her family. Her love was steadfast, unconditional, and deeply felt by those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, Robert Daum; her daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Tate, Stephanie Nicole Daum, and Briana Rebecca Daum; her goddaughters, Lori Bovi and Michelle Garner; her parents, James and Patricia Johnson; and her mother-in-law, Anna Mae Daum.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Richard Joseph Daum.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love, warmth, and compassion Michelle shared so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
