Rebecca Susan Barrett King, age 79 passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026,
Visitation with family and friends will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Rev. Bob Mulinex and Derek Boyd officiating. Becky will be laid to rest at Bailey Cemetery in the Mt. Joy Community.
Born in Princeton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Eugene Barrett and Wanda Jones Barrett. She was the wife of Clifford King, Jr. They were married for 60 years. Becky was an active member of the Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she loved singing in the choir and was a member of the CPW. She was a board member of the Lewis County Senior Citizens and participated in many leadership roles in that organization.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years: Clifford King, Jr. and one grandson: Corey Dale (Kendal) Hughes, three great granddaughters: Payton Rae Hughes, Maci Faith Hughes, and Nora Jo Hughes, all of Mount Pleasant. Brothers: Brad (Diane) Barrett of Brentwood, Tennessee and Bob Barrett of Franklin, Tennessee. Nephews are Colin (Rachel) Barrett of Nashville, Bradley (Carol-Lynn) Barrett of Franklin, and Andrew (Julie) Barrett of Brentwood. Also survived by three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
She is reunited with her daughter Kelly Marie King Hughes and son-in-law: Dale Stephenson Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Bradley McNeese, Terry Carpenter, Rickey Massey, Colin Barrett, Rusty Dodson, Greg King, Jimmy Williams, and Mark Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Woody, Warren Davis, and Tommy Isbell.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
