Richard Allen Hendrix

Richard Allen Hendrix, age 76, passed away Thursday, February 6th in Columbia, TN.
Richard was born July 15, 1937 to parents Marcus Allen Hendrix & Maude McAnally Hendrix in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Richard was a former banker at the 1st National Bank of Columbia. He also retired from Cytec Chemical, as well as serving as the Mayor of Mt. Pleasant, TN for 4 years. Richard served as a member of the Rotary Club, and as a member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Richard was also a veteran who served his country in the United States Air Force.
Funeral services for Richard will be Sunday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may visit on Saturday, February 8th from 5-8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, TN. Bro. Leon Mauldin & Bro. Andrew Roberts will officiate the service.
Military Honors will be provided by The Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be; Skip Bottoms, Spud Crotzer, Claude Brawner, Dr. & Mrs. Rufus Clifford, Anne Hendrix, and members of Jackson Heights Church of Christ in Columbia, TN.
Survivors include: Son; Mark Allen Hendrix of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Sister; Kay Neeley of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Nephews; Paul (Jennifer) Neeley, Allen (Rachel) Neeley, & Ricky Martin.
Richard is preceded in death by: daughter Holly Anne Hendrix, and sister Roberta Hendrix.
