Leoma

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert E. Matthews, a cherished soul whose quiet gentleness, and tender, vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert departed this world on January 8, 2024, at his residence in Leoma, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love, friendship, and boundless adventures.

Born on July 28, 1953, in Loretto, Tennessee, to the late Cora Lee Matthews, Robert's life was a tapestry woven with threads of connection and a free-spirited love for nature. To Robert, friends were family, and his infectious warmth formed an unbreakable bond with everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He had a remarkable ability to go out of his way to help others, offering a comforting presence in times of need. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a simple gesture, Robert's generosity knew no bounds.

Robert's wanderlust led him to explore the vast landscapes of the United States, creating a mosaic of stories and experiences that he eagerly shared with those around him. From coast to coast, he sought new adventures, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who joined him on his journeys.

In the tapestry of Robert's life, his partner, Sandra Prince, held a special place. Their love was a testament to the depth of human connection and the joy found in shared experiences. Sandra, along with a vast network of friends, now mourn the loss of a man whose laughter echoed through the valleys of their memories.

A celebration of life to honor Robert's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in honor of Robert to the. Lawrenceburg Animal Shelter and St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
