Obituary

Robin Wintheiser was born February 27, 1956 in Prentiss, Mississippi and was raised by her mother and step-father, Marilyn and Ellis Douglas. Her early childhood memories included riding along with her grandfather (Pap) while delivering propane in rural Mississippi. Her grandfather and grandmother, Reggie and Alleen (Memaw) Myers, lived across the street and owned Service Butane Gas Company, which was purchased by Marilyn and Ellis when Reggie passed away. Robin’s mother, father and grandmother have also since passed.

Robin graduated from Prentiss High School in 1973 and entered Mississippi State University as a 17 years old. Her professional career had her working for the Better Business Bureau in Monroe and Baton Rouge, Louisiana before relocating to Pennsylvania and then Michigan, where she had a long career as an advertising sales executive for The Marketeer in Livingston County. It seemed every business owner in the County knew Robin for her monthly sales calls and were quick with a hug when seeing her about town.

Robin met her husband Steve Wintheiser at mutual friend’s wedding in Natchez, Mississippi in 1986 and they were married in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1988. Robin lived a beautiful life with Steve for 40 years, travelling on numerous adventures through-out the U.S, Canada and Mexico, and cruises to Europe, the Mediterranean, Alaska and the Mississippi River.

Robin passed away at home on July 3, 2026, after a stubborn 7 month battle with lung/bone cancer, her third bout with cancer since 2013. The family wishes to thank Bethany Baptist Church in Prentiss, Mississippi and the staff of Compassus Hospice for their compassion and care of Robin during this time.

Robin is survived by her husband Steve Wintheiser (Columbia, TN), children: Heather (Andrew) Levin (Montevideo, Uruguay), and John (Lesley) Wise (Columbia, TN). Grand-children: Julian Levin, Huck Levin, Gwen Drewitz and Nora Drewitz. Sister Angel (Scott) Berry, and brothers Brent Davis and Ellis (Nancy) Douglas, Jr. Robin had numerous nieces and nephews on both her and Steve’s side of the family that loved their Aunt Robin. Fond memories will live in all the lives Robin touched along the way.

A Celebration of Robin’s life will be held at a later date. Robin campaigned annually for Toys for Tots and asked that in-lieu of flowers that you make a donation to her favorite charity - Toys for Tots at: https://secure.toysfortots.org/a/furthersearch.
