Ronald Brashears, age 85, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee.
He was born on August 31, 1940, to the late L.V. “Pete” Brashears and Edna Dean Noah Brashears. Ronald was often described as a gentle giant with the biggest heart. He would give anyone the shirt off his back, never hesitating to help someone in need. His infectious sense of humor could light up any room, and he was fiercely protective of and devoted to his family.
Ronald was married to his beloved wife, Norma Brashears, for 54 wonderful years before her passing in 2014. Together, they raised two dedicated children and built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.
He is survived by his children, Tracey (Bobby) Haywood and Tim (Morrow) Brashears; granddaughters, Natalie (Benjamin) Willard, Mary Claire (Brandon) Ballow, and Emily (Oliver) Hernandez; great-granddaughters, Addison, Lucille, and Betty Willard; and a special great-grandson, Haidenn Chatman.
In addition to his wife, Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, L.V. “Pete” Brashears and Edna Dean Noah Brashears, and his siblings, Shirley Brashears Carter and Ray Noah Brashears.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Williams Funeral Home, with Eddie Watson officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.
Ronald’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply.
