Ruby Dawson, age 93, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Ruby was born May 2, 1930, to the late Wille Robert Mosley and Addie Lee Burns Mosley.
Ruby was married to the late Ernest Dawson for 61 years. She attended public school at Woodrow in Williamsport. She worked at Weather Tamer and retired at the age of 73. She worked at a group home for 3 years and private sitting at Lifecare and Maury Regional. It was her desire to help and do for others.
Ruby was a dedicated member of First Freewill Baptist and Parkway Baptist since 1954, she was a member for 69 years. She has always been devoted to her husband and family.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday May 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by service at Parkway Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brad Dawson, Jason Wood, Joey King, Tyler Duke, Chris Dawson, and Driston Collins.
Honorary pallbearers: Great grandsons: Hayden Dawson, Oliver Knight, Tyler Duke, Isaiah Lawrence, Archie Gaumer.
Ruby was survived by her children: Ricky (Sheila) Dawson, Carol (Jimmy) Wood, and Cindy Morton; grandchildren: Brad Dawson, Jason Wood, Joey King, Michelle Wood, Leah Smith, Chris Dawson, Lindsey Knight, Amy Dawson; great-grandchildren: Brianna Wood, Tyler Duke, Brittany Walker, Driston Collins, Serenity Smith, Hayden Dawson, Brooklyn Newcomb, Isaiah Lawrence, Hannah Dawson, Kennedy Johnson, Krislyn Johnson, Oliver Knight, Maddi Dawson, and Archie Gaumer; great-great-grandchildren: Emmerick Duke, Paisley Walker, Charlotte Duke, Emmalynn Crutcher, and Oaklynn Walker; several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband; grandson: Mike Morton Sr.; sisters: Tiny Scroggins, Rena Brown, Geneva Capps, Flora Allen, Roberta Witherspoon, Patsy Sanders; brothers: Dempsey, Claude, and Robert Mosley.
