Ruby Ann Edwards

October 24, 1953 — October 7, 2022

Ruby Ann (Bettge) Edwards was born on October 24, 1953, to parents Elmer and Peggy (Edgemon) Bettge in Corpus Christi, Texas. She died on October 7, 2022.

After graduating from Kingsville High School, Ruby began her pursuit of a nursing career, first as an LPN working in hospitals and nursing homes and then working with hospice care from 1991 until her retirement in 2019. She was gifted in relating to her patients even in the most difficult of situations. She understood and experienced the holiness of walking with others through the dying process.

On February 4, 1978, she married Jim Edwards. They navigated life with two girls and several relocations as Jim was first an agronomist and then an itinerant United Methodist Pastor serving in Texas, Kansas, and Kentucky. Ruby always developed special friendships in each of these locations, thus she has good friends from every stage of life across multiple states and communities. She was most proud of her girls and grandchildren they gifted her. She usually could weave a story about them into almost any conversation.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Becky; and a brother, Mike. She is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters; Emily (Aaron) Robertson and Sarah (Sergei) Temkin; four grandchildren: Genevieve Robertson, Samuel Robertson, Mikhail Temkin, and Leeza Temkin; and her brother: Bill (Crystal) Bettge.

The care of Mrs. Ruby Edwards and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Williams Funeral Home. To share words of comfort and condolences, please visit www.williamsfh.com .
