Obituary

Sammy Ray Boshers, Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away on October 3, 2026, at Charter Senior Living in Franklin, Tennessee.

Born on December 5 in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, Sammy was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Myrtle Finerty Boshers. He was the youngest of ten children and was raised in a large family that helped shape the values of family, hard work, and devotion that he carried throughout his life.

Sammy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he built a long and dedicated career with Stauffer Chemical, where he worked for approximately 40 years.

For 71 years, Sammy shared his life with his beloved wife, Shirley House Boshers. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful children. His family continued to grow through the years, blessing him with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a treasured part of his life.

Sammy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Boshers; children, Sammy (Dottie) Boshers, David (Susie) Boshers, and Tracy (Judd) Bazzel; grandchildren, Sam (Brittany) Boshers, Kelly Boshers, Matthew (Nina) Boshers, Martin (Audrey) Daniel, Clint (Emily) Daniel, Whitney (Jake) Hayes, Kevin (Brittany) Hughes, and Chelsey (Kyle) Wilkes; and great-grandchildren, Sutton Daniel, Sawyer Daniel, Emmery Boshers, Marshall Boshers, Abigail Boshers, Gemma Daniel, Remington Walcott, Maverick Walcott, Lucas Boshers, Cooper Boshers, Ellis Hayes, Ava Hughes, Aubrey Hughes, Hudson Hughes, and Charlotte Wilkes.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Myrtle Finerty Boshers, and eight of his siblings.

A graveside service for Sammy will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Polk Memorial Gardens, with Frank Webb officiating.

Sammy's grandchildren will have the honor of serving as pallbearers, and his great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
