Teresa Diane Nelson of Columbia, TN was born on June 12, 1962, and went to meet Jesus at the age of 63 on September 11, 2025. Teresa was proceeded in death by her father James E. Nelson and by her mother Geraldine W. Nelson. She is survived by her brother James Daniel Nelson and wife Becky Nelson of Coppell, Texas, her sister, Connie Louise Thomas and husband David L. W. Thomas of Old Hickory, Tennessee along with her nieces and nephews: Patrick Nelson, Nina Nelson Boshers, Clarissa Thomas Childress, Paige Thomas Burr and Lorne Thomas and 11 great nieces and nephews.
Teresa was a special girl; she may never have spoken words but could let you know what she wanted with her eyes and a contagious smile. If you ever knew Teresa, you would understand that she could win your heart by just spending a little time with her. Teresa was well loved by family and many caregivers because she required 24-hour care. Although we will miss Teresa dearly, we are rejoicing that she is in the arms of Jesus now with no more disabilities or special needs and look forward to when we meet again.
Our family would like to say Thank You to all the many caregivers that helped care for Teresa over the years. Thank You to Progressive Directions, INC for your involvement in Teresa's daily life and care around the clock.
